  LEGOdometer

As is my tendency, here’s an absurdly long treatise describing the development of a LEGO Train Odometer Car (a.k.a. the “LEGOdometer”). (URL) A Little Background. After religiously attending them for several years, I stopped going to LEGO train (...) (16 years ago, 4-Aug-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, FTX) !!

The LEGO Didn't Break (or the HALE Mission - LEGO where it was never intended to go)

OK, I'm a little bit proud of this... and, mostly, amazed that it functioned at all. I was selected to participate in the HALE (High Altitude LEGO Extravaganza) after submitted two proposals in the hopes one would make it... and instead, both were (...)   Re: VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

(...) Geoffrey, It also works the opposite way too! I use that wire to connect the 9v Train regulator to my PF motors. Works like a charm! It also gives you speed control.... -Alvin. (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

As long as you've got 9V motors you can hook up to the Power Functions unit you should be okay, just don't expect it to behave the same way as Power Functions motors do. On the S@H page ROSCO provided there is this: "Allows you to connect your LEGO (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

(...) Hi ROSCO, How did I miss this? Despite the price, I'll include a couple in my next order from shop at home and then I'll be able to hide the receiver! Thank you for the tip and nice comments. Greetings, David (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

New Pneumatic Component Set from LEGO Education

Hope that I'm not bringing up old news here, but I noticed that LEGO Education is offering a new set of pneumatic components for pre-order. I was a little surprised to see this, since I thought that pneumatics had been all but retired in favor of (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  motorization of 8466 sized model

I have been working at making a monster truck with 8466 wheels. Everything was going well until I was sorting out the propulsion. Has anyone had any sucess in motorising a large model that would travel at a reasonable speed? I think that there is a (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

(...) Very nicely done, David! (...) Not exactly cheap, but: (URL) - Due to the placement of the battery, the rear seat back is no longer angled. (...) Yes it's always hard to retro-fit such functions to sets not designed for it, and the VW is (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

Hi, After building the new VW set last Sunday, I brought it to work and while everybody admired it, one person commented that it should be powered and should have functional steering... So back to the building desk I went and voila: (URL) <-- Movie (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Power Functions remote control Thumbstick - new challenge

(...) OK, here is an attempted solution to the "new challenge", i.e. translating joystick movement to tank controls. It works, but it's a little awkward to use (pushing the joystick sideways requires quite a lot of force). I'm sure Jason (or (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)
