Renault Magnum with stepframe trailer laden with a CAT D7R dozer

Hi all, It has been a while since I finished a new MOC. But the model I've added to my (URL) website> today took me more than two years to build. And it has a different color than the previous ones: oranges. That was also the main reason it took so (...)   Re: Linear Actuator

(...) I totally agree. I think their is one simple metal part inside a pneumatic ram, and that's mostly cylindrical. An LA must have it's ram, worm gear, worm gear rack, and maybe(hopefully) a bearing all made of metal. Seems like the usual Lego (...) (17 years ago, 23-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Linear Actuator

The only way I can see these being cheaper to produce is if they have no matel parts at all which would make them even worse. And yes you would need a means to power them throuh a series of gears and universal joints which I think could be more (...) (17 years ago, 23-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) Wish I did. :-) Steve (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) Yeah, Steve, those are all mine...That was at BF 06' They are all still together with the exception of the truck mounted one. The superstructure and boom is still together, but I tore apart the "truck" part of it to rebuild in the near (...) (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) <snip> (...) Oh. My. Goodness!!! That would hurt if it fell on you! Once again the LEGO builders--in whatever theme--never cease to astound me! Nicely done! Dave K (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) That's a lot of cranes. Are they all yours? (...) I know I'd like to know. Steve (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) It worked pretty well for me on this one: (URL) all of these: (URL) have had no problems with the two parts coming apart....If you can tell by this pic, the red and white one is holding up a 8421 almost 8 feet away from the center of (...) (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) Great crane Rosco, shame their's no accompanying text. Steve (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) Yes, that is correct. (...) See also (URL) technique> - this allowed me to lift the whole crane base up by the superstructure. ROSCO (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Technicopedia Update

I have to say that's an absolutely amazing site! Fascinating stuff, I have it bookmarked and I'm looking forward to the rest of your updates! :-) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) This is correct. Real cranes have roller bearings that are pinned in place that bear the weight and force of the superstructure where it is connected to the base. (...) I am going to use a threaded axle through the center to hold the plates (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

What should happen with the lugnet.robotics.nxt sidebar?

Hello, LUGNET readers. In case you don't know, I'm the lugnet.robotics.nxt curator. I used to update the NXT section sidebar with [in]frequent regularity, but during the last couple months I've not done anything to it. I get busy and/or don't take (...)   Re: Linear Actuator

(...) Obviously with *my* interests, I hope that the linear actuator is not the end of pneumatics. There are still a lot of ideas I've not had a chance to try, but more part type options are great! Kevin (www.kclague.net) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Linear Actuator

The more I think about the new linear actuator the more applications I think up for it, but I was just wondering is it actually going to be significantly cheaper to make than the pneumatic system? I know you won't need a pump, valve block or pipes, (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Panel Fairings?

(...) Gordons's right, I'm currently pro the new fairings. I like my parts to be made up of recognisable geometric shapes and have lines of symmetry :-). (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)
