Hi All, I've been reading this site for a while and decided it was about time to actually post something. Just to give you some background on to where I'm coming from, I'm the other guy who did the Star Wars movies with Jason Allemann. I started (...) (17 years ago, 15-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic)

Some pictures of the latest build of my gantry crane are on the Bodville website. It has had quite an upgrade, new gearbox, grabber and technic chain drive (URL) is also a movie of it in action. High Quality (8 meg) (URL) Low Quality (URL) (17 years ago, 15-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8275 Bulldozer...

(...) Excellent! I'm with you as regards the track links. Crawler cranes anyone? Regards (17 years ago, 15-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8275 Bulldozer...

(...) By starter set in this context I mean a set that contains enough of the parts to be really useful in building MOCs rather than a "first" set or the like. 4 motors are better than 2 motors in this context, but the dino looks interesting too. (...) (17 years ago, 15-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8275 Bulldozer...

(...) I'm with John on this one - I ended up grabbing the Dino because it was cheaper, and I could at least get experience with the new motors and control system (which I *think* I like... it's been hard to experiment a lot since my kids won't let (...)   Re: 8275 Bulldozer...

(...) Wow, you call a $150 USD set a "starter" set???!!! I think I want your LEGO budget! ;) All kidding aside, like ROSCO said, if you want to get into the new motors & RC units, I think the dino is a better intro set, but there do seem to be lots (...)   Re: Two New GBC Modules..

(...) It's hard to tell from that picture, but pause the video and you'll see the balls run up at a 6-stud spacing. That means the peaks of the wave are six studs apart. The cams are spaced with one pulley plus a half bush, so are spaced exactly one (...) (17 years ago, 14-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: 8275 Bulldozer...

(...) [LEGOSet 4958] Actually, the new Dino set (not available here yet either) looks like a good source for the new RC items, I was more looking forward to a bulk source of the new tread links, and the bigger sprockets. ROSCO (17 years ago, 13-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Two New GBC Modules..

(...) Speaking of remorseless shameless copying, I spent an hour and half last night trying to build the crankshaft. I can't figure out the pattern those pulley wheels are using, especially how much space is between them. It doesn't look like the (...) (17 years ago, 13-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)
