In case anyone missed the posting on r.t.l, I have just posted the scan • of
the droids at

Thanks!  The original post got cancelled on RTL, or so it seems.

Now, shall we play the game of identifying the new parts on these sets?
:-)

The legs of the 8002 seem to be new, and there is a new 3x5 L-shaped
liftarm with a curved arc on it.

That set seems to be really good for parts.

All three look fantastic for parts, in the 'new colours' of dark grey, tan,
brown and green.

On 8002 I can make out 3 new parts from the scan:

Feet
3x5 L shaped liftarm with curved arc (shoulders/head)
3x3 L shaped liftarm with curved arc (used on the legs)

8001 looks like there may be something new on the head.

On 8002 the angled beams all seem to be the 'new' type.

Us Technic fans are very lucky. The quality of sets in the rest of the LEGO
range is going downwards fast (with the exception of SW) whereas Technic
just gets better and better (IMHO), with new innovations appearing every
year.

Roll on 2000...

(...) So it's no wonder that the Technic Star Wars models turned out to be so great! If the 8002 operates like shown on the pictures, than it must be very good designed. (...) Right on! I can hardly wait. Fredrik (25 years ago, 17-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)
