  Idea Books 8888 and 8889

I recently acquired the two first Technic Idea books. The pictures included leave me hungry for more. Is there anyone here who has built the larger models AND took some pictures of them ? I would be anxious to see them (and any variation made to (...) (19 years ago, 20-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

Reliable Switch Point Control with Pneumatics

Here's a reliable scheme for controlling unmodified switch points with pneumatics. This scheme is for use on track that is raised up off the baseplate in modules. I have reduced the depth required below the track to a minimum of 9 plates in the (...)   gearbox pack 673F - any use for it?

The gearbox pack 673F is now on sale at half-price at S@H (URL) there a good use for it? I could use it as a motor, except I can't tell how it's powered (how many volts, nature of connection). If it only works connected to another RC motor, then it (...) (19 years ago, 19-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pictures of New technique: Cascaded Trinary Pneumatics (aka mid-stop)

(...) I'll start a schematic next week as this week is an unusual week at work. That should cover the pneumatic circuit. Basically, each stage gets a feed from the compressor, which goes to the middles of the two switches that drive the next stage (...) (19 years ago, 17-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: High Failure Rate of New Type 9V Geared Motor

(...) I had the same problem with one of mine. Using them in a fast RC car might do this if it gets slammed into something. I will inform Nathanael Kuipers of the problem since he works at TLC and can tell the proper person. (19 years ago, 17-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Road Grader

(...) Hi Vineet! The model is 80% done and I have run out of yellow studs. Here is Saturday's link- (URL) may decide to make it with a black stripe down the side which would utilize the large supply of black studs I have. Since I never make (...) (19 years ago, 17-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Crane MOC made during boredom

Hey all, thought I'd share my little crane MOC. It's a custom base with two new 9v geared motors used to drive each track through the following gears: 24 tooth crown on motor 24 tooth 8 tooth 8 tooth 24 tooth 8 tooth 24 tooth 40 tooth driving treads (...)   High Failure Rate of New Type 9V Geared Motor

Bad tidings! I'm experiencing a rather high failure rate with the new type 9V geared motor (#43362). This motor has been discussed before ((URL) motor can be easily recognised: when you twirl the shaft it turns very little and quickly comes to a (...)   Re: Road Grader

Nate- Compliments go out to the design of the grader! I like the way you used the pneumatics in the front steering (I guess I was wrong about the length of the piston arm!). On your other creation, the road scraper, do you also plan to use (...) (19 years ago, 16-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

In lugnet.technic, Mark Bellis wrote: <snip> (...) Mark, I've tried to study the pictures, but I cannot resolve the mechanical linkages, and/or the pneumatic hookups. I was going to try to draw up a schematic, but I just can't resolve the images. (...) (19 years ago, 16-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
