all you need is Darth vader's cape (the really big one) to catch the balls. Just
drape it behind the wheel, and it stops the balls.
I dropped it yesterday, and now it only has 75% accuracy. But now, after I
rebuilt it. shoots ~7.5 feet. I can lay down with the shooter at my feet and it
shoots over my head with room to spare.
And yes, it can shoot minifigs. After all, that is the most important part,
right?
