Dear Lego,
Why do you torture Technic enthusiasts? First, we get a preview of three very
cool looking Technic sets (8421, 8420, and 8416), but for some reason the
release dates of these sets are clustered together in the 4th quarter of 2005.
Then, we see the Technic Enzo Ferrari, which has been available in Europe for
several weeks, but apparently wont be released in the US until later this year
(if at all??). Then, you tease us with a free shipping offer at S@H that we
would pounce in an instant if any of these sets were available. Arrgghh!
Why???
In all seriousness, I dont understand the philosophy behind saving all
these sets for the 4th quarter. I understand that Lego caters to children,
and that the Christmas season is the most likely opportunity for parents to
buy these sets for their children. But even the luckiest child is unlikely
to get all of these sets at one time. In the mean time, AFOLs are left
frustrated and looking for other outlets for their disposable income. Im
willing to bet that AFOLs buy a larger percentage of Technic sets than any
other line (with the possible exception of Star Wars).
Jake, can you please forward this to the decision makers at TLC? It may be too
late to change release dates for 2005, but hopefully they will consider this
when planning future releases.
Regards,
Andy Evans
