    Electric motor 71427 —Slawomir Tamulewicz
   I have problems with two seized electric motors 71427 which come with 8479 sets. It is impossible to rotate shafts with bare fingers. Could anybody give me detailed guidelines how to safely disassemble them to clean or to repair them? Please, help (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic)

     (...) Hello, this happens from time to time. Contact Lego Consumer Affairs and they should be happy to replace them for you. I was checking through my motors and found three that were seized.    (...) I have had six 71427 motors replaced, out of about 20. If you really want to open them, use a small flat-blade screwdriver to lever out the backplate at the bottom. I've got 16 (probably half used, off of eBay) in use for a couple years with one problem of this nature popping up (a recently purchased, *used* motor from eBay). Does anyone have any firm (...)
