| | | I am thinking of buying the 8462 tow truck, and I was wondering what people thought of it (I like very technical sets). Also is it the correct size to tow my 8448 super car. That would be a cool display (not that my super car is broke down or (...) (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | | (...) i got an 8462 for xmas this year... great set... but.. it *won't* tow your supercar (either 8448 or 8880)... the scale is incorrect.. it's scale is that of any vehicle using the new, "silver", low profile wheels (sets 8432, 8428, 8417).. in (...) I don't have the 8448, but I am working on a MOC using the 8448 wheels and 2x2 cylinder/pistons as in the IndyStorm and others (I believe the same as the 8448 from pictures I've seen). | | | | | I love mine. It looks great on my desk next to my computer. Plus, it's got a great parts selection: Lots of Technic beams, a Technic turntable(!), and the wheels are heli-cool. It was worth even the full price I paid, and is very do-able at the (...) (25 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | (...) Rob, I got the 8462 Tow Truck a couple of months ago and it is quite attractive and challenging to build. Definitely worth getting. In order for it to tow the 8448 Super Street Sensation you need to slighly modify the tire holder on the 8462 (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | Thanks for your responses. I am looking to buy the set based on its own quality. Consensus is that the truck is the wrong scale to tow the supercar, but some of the smaller sets fit well. Thanks again for you input, Rob (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)
