Heh... you haven't seen the size of my rubber bands. (evil grin) For the
speed I can get on small LEGO vehicles, let's just say that it's not
entirely safe for me to launch them indoors.

I can pretty much guarantee that a simple and light structure, propelled
forwards by the recoil of a fair-sized elastic band as it is snapped
back to its normal shape would be almost certain to beat any motorized
vehicle for any straight sprints that aren't any more than about half a
block long.

BTW, this is great fun for driving a cat completely nuts... with small
things moving across the ground at blurring speed, it's a riot to watch
a cat's face as he tries to anticipate the motion. :)
