'All yellow': 1989 First appearance and introduction of the 8862 in the Dutch Lego-Catalog (pic 38&39): (URL) 1990: Cap color changed to black. First seen in the German/French/Italien catalogue. Also the 8854 has the newer black-cap cylinders in (...) (23 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic)

A year ago I made a page for these differences, explaining it to one of my technic-set buyers. I'll upload the page again, for about a week or two. (...) Yup! although you do also get 2 pairs of them in the rather cheaper 8465. I was forgetting that the shocks are unique (AFAIK) in that they are more stiffly sprung than the normal long-travel shocks found in 8880 etc, in the same way that (...) (23 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic)
