`Why Britain needs more Meccano and less Lego'

Hi all, This is sure to cause some controversy and stir up some discussion on this forum: (URL) discussion of this over on /.: (URL) I'll just sit back and watch the sparks fly, I think. Cheers, Johannes. -- It's a good thing money can't buy (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

It isn't the same! (was:Re: scanning for new parts)

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty darn sure it's not the same part! The new (currently yellow) piece has a larger hole through which some kind of u-joint moves. It also has an extra bit of plastic between main body and the extended ball joint, (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: The Great Redini Was Correct!

(...) There were opaque orange colors around, even before 1998, but not in the popular themes like town, space, castle or technic, but in Belville, Duplo and Scala. Selçuk (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Bionicle At Walmart!

(...) Nice. I'll have to check my local WalMart. The two TRU's around here still only have Toa and mask packs. Shouldn't the Turaga have been out by now? (24 years ago, 9-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Bionicle Promotions

You have to do a scavenger hunt in order to get them. They give you hints about locations, then you have to find the oversized card and mask, write down the missing letter, and then de-scramble the letters to get a word. After all of this you take (...)   Re: Comic #2 out, Promo listed

(...) I myself have been sucked in to the "Bionicle Trap." Yeah, on the surface, most of the pieces are spudish. If you aren't doing anything interesting on the Mech or Technic front, the whole Throw-Robo-Bionicle thing is not for you, and I then (...)   Re: Comic #2 out, Promo listed

(...) I'm probably in the more dislike than like camp but the little creatures *are* kind of cute. (Not "good for anything", just cute) They really don't go with Town stuff, though. I won't be trying to get every last one but will probably get a few (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

Re: Comic #2 out, Promo listed

Well, if that's the crap they're going to be selling at McD in Sept, then they'll get no money from me this time around (I routinely spend well over $200 on McD food when they get Lego). What useless chunks of plastic. I feel sorry for those people (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)
