I myself have been sucked in to the "Bionicle Trap." Yeah, on the surface,
most of the pieces are spudish. If you aren't doing anything interesting on
the Mech or Technic front, the whole Throw-Robo-Bionicle thing is not for
you, and I then discourage anyone from going there. But for me, I can see
very interest uses for many of the pieces.
On the mask front, well, I'm sucked in big-time on that also. I will have to
try to get as many as I can, just because I know that they are out there.
It's a clever idea, and I commend whoever (whomever?) developed this idea
for production at Lego. I also lament my loss of cash over this. (I'm 6
masks short of the original 72 [I have found 2 infected Hau masks as well,
lucky me]). I'll be visiting all the McD's in the Metro D.C. area to get the
little critters, and chucking the burgers.
Now if I can just warn anyone who is only just a little interested from
Bionicles to just stay away, please do so. You don't want to go down this
road unless you are prepared for it.
