  Bionicle FAQ V1.01

Hi all! I am happy to announce that I finally opened the first small section of my Bionicle LEXICON. There is already a little to read through and drool over. However, there still needs to be many many additions. Now that it is technically working (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle) !

Re: How about ideas for new elements?

(...) It's a good point and a good idea, but even if I did buy a gear especially I still wouldn't want to modify it. I'd sooner find a way to work round the problem. Altering Lego has never appealed to me. I see the challenge as making it work with (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about ideas for new elements?

That sounds familiar. When I think up a new model, I invariably have that one critical piece that requires modification. Without the piece, the model just wouldn't work. I wouldn't dare touch my 40t gears either. It would be different if I had 100 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beams - bulk?

Try www.brickbay.com. You can sometimes find individuals selling large quantities (Bricks by Terry- lots of red 1x10 and 1x12). Do a search for 1x16 beams to find someone offering a large quantity. Lego does not sell large beams individually despite (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beams - bulk?

Check out Pitsco-dacta, they have Technic beams in bulk, this seems to be our only recourse....... (URL) luck..... Eric (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Technic beams - bulk?

Is there anywhere that technic beams can be got in large quantities? (Esp blue/green/red) Apart from the ebay auctions which have variable quality assorted beams (with say 40 pieces!) More like 25/50/100 of 1x16 etc. Do lego sell these at all? TIA (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: How about ideas for new elements?

(...) Your evil, you know that don't you! :-) (...) I just can't bring myself to do it. Although last night I dreamed up a vehicle and the success of the whole project may depend on boring out the holes on three 40t gears, so they spin on their (...)   Re: LSD/Auto-Locking Differential Gears

(...) Shouldn't that be understeer? If the inner wheel is provideing a force, surely that would cause the nose of the car to veer outwards rather than inwards. Steve (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: LSD/Auto-Locking Differential Gears

(...) It works extremely well actually. It is easy to push the car when it is going straight, but as you turn the steering wheel, you can feel the gradual tug of the LSD working as the car goes into a tighter turn. On grippy surfaces like linolium (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: LSD/Auto-Locking Differential Gears

(...) Manual Locking differential and Automatic locking differential I presume. (...) Does it work? Steve (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
