  Re: Studless Truss Design?

  Lego Technic Combine Harvester

Hi Everyone, I have just completed my Technic Lego Combine Harvester. It is loosely based on a New Holland, although I like to keep the body open to show off the mechanical aspects of the machine. It features motorised head, with pnuematic (...) (16 years ago, 10-Feb-09, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Studless Truss Design?

(...) That's gorgeous! Not exactly what I was looking for, but maybe inspiration for the next project. Maybe I'm thinking too small here. What's the span on that? Looks like about 4 meters. (16 years ago, 2-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Studless Truss Design?

I put this together last year for the sydney train club. It uses pretty common parts. (URL) The big problem with studless building is the amount of clutching you get from the connector pins. In this bridge i jammed tiny bits of flex-tube in the (...) (16 years ago, 2-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) Tower Crane Boom is beam and pin only. (URL) uses multiple dimension connectors as it requires torsional stiffness. (URL) will need 'exotics' to connect dimensions. Thats how studless works best. The beams only have holes in one direction = (...) (16 years ago, 1-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic)

(...) My recollection is that Znap had parts that could do that... :-) Rafe (16 years ago, 26-Feb-09, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Studless Truss Design?

(...) Good start, though it takes some exotic pieces. Seems like Lego should make a piece that joins liftarms end-to-end. I'm sure i'm not the only person that would use it. (16 years ago, 26-Feb-09, to lugnet.technic)

  Studless Truss Design?

I figured a studless truss couldn't be too hard to build, and it would use up some of these dang liftarms... but I can't seem to get a decent design. Has anybody done such a thing? Links/pics appreciated. (16 years ago, 25-Feb-09, to lugnet.technic)
