The teeth on that part were used in conjunction with this part: (URL) parts are old and the teeth usually broke off or the piece would crack. Basically you could use the bush to position the connector anyway you wanted on an axle and hold it in (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

Hi, When you study 6573 part ((URL) you see two clutches as the one in 6542 part ((URL) you know, the 6542 clutch is used in gearbox with the 6539 part ((URL) the clutches in 6573 part used in any official LEGO model ? (my guess is no....) You can (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)
