  Re: Motor-powered transmission

Tiago, For the steering, I am thinking that you should use a Touch sensor to detect when the steering is center. Attach something to the rack that will depress the touch sensor when the rack is centered. If you need to detect the turn rate (how far (...)   Motor-powered transmission

Hi everyone, I´m trying to build a LEGO Mindstorms car with a motor-powered transmission. I only want two or three gears, nothing too much complex for the start. I builded the transmission from the chapter 14 of the book "Building Robots with LEGO (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Fiber optic cables from 8480, 8456, and 9732

(...) Yes. If you stick them into one of the straw - tube pieces [1] (for awhile) they'll eventually staighten out. [1] The kind found commonly in Technic sets. Also may be described as "hard line pneumatic tubbing". e (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: references for studless construction and Mindstorms?

(...) I too would like such a reference - sadly, at this point the best I've found is looking over (more often, building) stock LEGO studless designs. The small 'dozer Technic model that was released last year was a very nice education (for its (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.technic)

Fiber optic cables from 8480, 8456, and 9732

Does anyone have an idea how to straigthen the fiber optic cables from these sets? My space shuttle has just been dismantled (after staying built for 1-1/2 years) and the fiber optic cables stay curled. (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

references for studless construction and Mindstorms?

Since playing with some of the newer Technic sets (and some bionicles) I am realizing that there can be significant advantages to studless construction...a high strength to weight ratio being one of them...
