  Re: SSClagorpion

(...) I like this idea a lot. It sounds very good to me. (...) I agree. Very cool. (...) Assymetry in the leg length might make some legs hold more weight than others, making it harder to lock. (...) Kevin (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion

(...) Now, I have a question about the "logic" behind walking sideways. When SSClagorpion is done walking sideways, and it starts walking forward, will the legs all be in the same position in/out, or will 1/2 be in, while 1/2 are out? Assuming the (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion

(...) I just came up with an idea for how to make the legs work. It should make it so the pneumatic cylinder doesn't have to support the weight of the creature. The idea is to have the legs "lock" into place, when they are down. Think about the legs (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Universal Joint Modifications for Train Applications

Has anyone modified a universal joint? Was your modified part successful? I find that the uni joints are too long for certain train applications. I propose to take a broken uni joint (the axle holding parts break at the ends), and do the following (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Lego RC Set Questions

(...) If I remember correctly (haven't had my RC out for a few months), 1 & 2 go together. That is, the two small pedals control any output that is connected to the gray power connector. As for attaching mini-motors, I have done that without having (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Lego RC Set Questions

I’ve just received my first Lego RC set, 8366. I have a few questions: 1. The remote control has two small pedals, what are there for? 2. The battery/receiver unit has a gray power connector, what is it for? 3. Is it possible to connect the standard (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Coupe/ Cabrio car

(...) They don't make these new panels in metallic green (aka pea soup puke green) - yet. And N says he built the car using only 8458 and 8466. When they were current panels #20-23 don't exist yet. <opinion> Anyways he's leagues above us mere (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.loc.nl, lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion

(...) I do in my "Mindstorms Masterpieces" book, but I don't have any on-line. It is similar, except that the pivot point of the old switch is lower. (...) Nope. SSClagorpion does not walk using a simple pneumatic motor configuration. (...) Kevin (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion

(...) Two questions. First, do you have a picture like this for an old style switch? (URL) assume the geometry of the switch lever is about the same. Second, this reversable motor looks good. Can we use that to walk? (URL) the choice of running a (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

"Nathanael Kuipers" <kuipers_n@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:Hx009B.1nCy@lugnet.com... (...) <snip> (...) ok... (...) This is a realy nice car. Just love the rooftop-raising mechanism.   Re: SSClagorpion

(...) Ok, I think we just need to proceed with the full-blown plan, and worry about where the parts are coming from later. (maybe it was just me that was thinking about that) I've just wrapped up a local event, and am ready to focus a great deal (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

(...) I have it But I am waiting for the latest creation. That thing looks even cooler lot of functions. I especially like the side scoops. Steve (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

(...) Have seen this. Awesome model (long time monster truck fan). Anything can be done. May just take a look at it. Steve (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

Nothing to add. :D I tried the same some weeks ago, but i had to stop because my final exams at school come closer day by day and the flow of work doesn't stop. Now it seems that the animation of suspensions and gears has got its final edge, or is (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Advice from crane builders (was: Blimey)

(...) A friend of mine is building the Liebherr LGD1800 of Riga Mainz (the Spacelifter). (2 URLs) He tried to lift the A-frame with Technic beams + gear racks. He used 12V motors (the round ones). It didn't work very well. His crane is on scale (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

(...) Hi Steve, I see always your animations, I would want to know to make also! Do you would try to animate the suspension devised from me? See here please: (URL) What do you say? It's possible? Thanks (sorry for my english) Andrea G. (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

(...) Hi Steve, Just had a look at some of your animations. Some nice stuff in there. I've just started my own experiments in animating LDraw stuff. Can you tell me more about how you create animations in PovRay? So far I've created separate scenes (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.technic)
