  Re: modified 4185s

(...) When I read this I somehow got the idea you would use LEGO as the tool for modification, as this would then be a "politically correct" modification. (For example using a metallic axle piece like in (URL) Jürgen Stuber <stuber@loria.fr> (URL) (...) (21 years ago, 22-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) ideas. Your mod to the pulley is quite interesting. Let us know how the bored-out wheels perform. It could be a better method than using a drill press. I've had many problems with using a press and not getting the drilled hole to line up (...) (21 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: modified 4185s

Or, you could have used this part: (URL) so it's not as thin as the wedge belt wheel. I see you grew quite fond of taking pictures of this sinning in the mill. I'm sure Pixel will cry when he see them *evil grin* Are you building an airplane? :) (...) (21 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

  modified 4185s

I'm currently working on a project that needs a lot of Technic Wedge Belt Wheels (4185) that can freely spin. I realize that modifying Lego parts is a sin. But other people such as TJ Avery have done this modification. So i thought that it would be (...) (21 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New colors and other info

(...) These are excellent examples of how to use the studless beams, full-width liftarms, or whatever you want to call them. I use this type of connection (studs-in-holes) quite often, and I'm pleased with the results. I hate to dig up a sore (...) (21 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pictures of 'Bionicle-Castle' sets, from UK club magazine

Ugh. However... to me these look like an extension of the Galidor line, not the Bioncle line as rumored. Knowing that the larger Lego corporate entity (not Lego Direct) takes a long time to develop a product line...perhaps development and (...) (...) Huw, thanks for the scan. My first thought is: How can these be called "castle"? Yea, I realize they're supposed to be some sort of knight, but where's the actual "castle"? I'd suggest calling them "Bionicle Knights", since in order to build (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.technic)
