I sort by:
1-brick type
2-colour
So, I have oodles of 2 sizes of tubs (about 45 total, so far). I mostly sort
by part type, so for example, all my windows are in one tub, my normal (non
red) slopes in another, my 3H slopes in a 3rd, my red 45% in a 4th, my red 33%
in a 5th, my inverted slopes in a 6th. I divide when I need to, and not
before, which means that there is considerable sorting when a division occurs.
The most recent division I did was to take 4 colours of 1x4 bricks out of my
1x4-1x16 box (Red, White, Yellow, Blue). This reduced the volume in it by _a
lot_ :)
Ask me in about a month how much I truely love sorting, since I have to take
apart most everything before I move...probably 10k-15k of pieces.

| Hey Ron, Well, I currently have three of the drawer units from HomeBase that you'd use in the garage for holding screws and whatnot. I put all my small and specialized bits in those. Then I have larger rubbermaid-style shoe boxes I got at KMart, and (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)
