I'm do the as you. I break down all the boxes that I can and store them flat.
I really don't know why I keep them, as I never intend to sell my collection
either. I think it's partly sentimentality and partly my just being a packrat,
unwilling to throw them away.
Luckily, though, I have a pretty large space in which to house my collection,
so space isn't an issue yet.
