Excellent! I've had similar experiences myself. It took what seemed forever to
sort my Technic, but it pays off whenever I build new mecha these days. I can
find any part within a few seconds. The other upside being that I know how many
of a specific part I have. THis is important to color junkies like me.
Plano boxes just didn't cut it for me. WalMart had adjustible tackle boxes made
by Keter. These have worked wonders. I have 14 of them and still see the need
for more as the compartmentilization is fantastic. Each case holds a specific
type of part-hinges and bendy arms, Throwbot-related joints, transparent parts
6x6 or smaller, etc. I even have a case devoted to 1x1 and 2x1 modified plates.

My bricks, plates, and slopes are all sorted by size within their own opaqua
containers. The toughest thing for me to see these days is whether I'm looking
at the Xx2 or Xx3 slopes. I guess I'll label them in time.

Yeah, this sounds about right. My buckets are used for sorting and for the
donation of parts. Orange has it's own case as does green, brown, and dark grey
as I use these colors often but don't have nearly as much as I do of the Lego
Basic 5.

LOL!!! I'm in the same boat. I have two drawers full of town stuff that I
haven't really sorted yet other than to acknowledge that it belings in town.
UGH!

Ugly colors? What ugly colors? (dave is mentally whipping up a trade proposal
with minimal shipping costs involved. Want technic? Let's talk turkey.)

Those who don't sort spend far too much time hunting for parts if their
collection is more than a few sets.
Friends don't let friends hunt for parts.
