Here is all that I know-
Three 2001 Star Wars sets were availible at Zellers in Oshawa, Ontario.

Droid Escape/44 pcs/$9.99
Battle Droid Carrier/133 pcs/$14.97
TIE Fighter/169 pcs/$27.98

Prices are in Canadian dollars. I bought the Droid Escape on Friday.  The grey
cylinder pieces are 4x4x6.  When four are placed together, they make an 8x8x6
hollow cylinder.  The tops and bottoms of the pieces are a one brick wide
curve, the wall itself is less than one brick thick (like Castle wall pices).
The white ones are the same, but with printing on them.

Hang on...
You actually own a 2001 Star Wars set?!  When and where did you find it, and
were any of the other Star Wars sets available?  How much did it cost?  What
are the gray cylinder pieces like?  Curious people want to know...

I own this set, and I can confirm that they are white.

Depending on the lighting they might be white? Frankly, I'd be satisfied
with either, but you are correct, Eric; they are excellent pieces to spruce
up any building.

Is it just me or do I see some 2x2 inverted gray corner slopes on set 7106 • in
this picture... (It's the escape pod).

If so I very excited.  These havn't been available for a few years and they
make great architectural elements.

(...) Well, that's one of the two main sets I'm waiting for (TIE.) I guess I'm gonna have to start hitting TRU every day, which sucks because it's a pretty far drive for me. The other set I want is the shuttle... I imagine I'm not the only one... (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Wow! Cool! Do you mind answering one other burning question? How many 'figs does the TIE Fighter set come with? The catalogue shows one Stormtrooper and one Pilot, but I'm holding out hope there's a 'fig hiding in the cockpit of the TIE (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Anybody know what prices we can expect in the U.S.? 44 pcs for $9.99 is asking a bit much for me, TIE seems pricy too. Thanks JOnathan (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars)
