Greg,

Chicago did get them!!

I am so glad I got my Falcon when I did. The TRU at Western @ Addison in
Chicago got 2 falcons and 5 Tie Interceptors around the 20th of June. I got a
falcon and a Tie that day. the other falcon sat for about 3 days.
I live in Addison, and commute to work in Schaumburg. The TRU in Shaum has yet
to Falcons. Heres what they do have. The still have a full section of SW. They
got two Tie Interceptors in around June 15, I bagged one. About two weeks ago I
wandered in for my regular visit and they had about 3 UCS X-wings. I just
couldn't afford it. After I got paid I returned...all gone. I bought an MTT
instead.
I went back
yesterday only to find that the Star Wars Lego section is now 1/4 the size it
was and they are replacing them with Rock Raiders. Why???
Because the Rock raiders are the big push right now. They really can't keep the
SW on the shelves and they can't have empty spaces, so they distribute what the
get more effectivly. In Schaum. they have few RR, more SW so there is more
space for them.
The only thing they
have a ton of is the pod racer set(at full price). I asked 2 people if they
had any plans to get more in. Their answer was "check back in a few weeks." So
I took that as they had no clue. So perhaps you can call around to the TRU's
to see if they still had one on the shelves.
Yeah, right. Most of my experience in trying to talk to the TRU people has been
totally futile. It's easier to talk to a drunk, they at least pretend to
listen!
But with Chicago taxes, I might
just call S@H. I would like a second one so I can kit bash them into a better
Falcon. I already had to add a few gray service packs and some random Dark
Gray odd part E-Bay wins to open the walkway from the cockpit to the ship
body, made the ship taller so the minifigs can stand in the ship, filled in
the holes in the front, replaced all visible blue blocks, made more/larger
smuggling compartments, new interior walls, added bottom quad gun, got one
gunners seat(working on second seat, just not enough room).
And you have kept most of the original ship? Go Gosh why? Sounds to me that you
are making a significantly better ship. I would think it may be easier to start
from scratch, then there is no time consuming modifying of the original Lego
design. I honestly cannot say I all that impressed, but I still gotta have it.

Oh yeah, and I fed
the cheesy escape pod to my ferrets(they seem to like lego's too).
Ferrets are cool. My only concern is that if they reallt liked the silly escape
pod, they may come back for more. You could be losing Jar Jars by the dozen as
we speak! (or is that really a loss?)

Any idea why Lego made a nice new canopy for the falcon and the minifigs have
to be staggered to sit in the cockpit? Why could they not make a useable new
canopy?
It's TLC. They sometimes do things half ass. I love'm but there is only so much
you can do with bricks. They obviously felt the cockpit was adequit. Not only
that, but they would have to dramatically increase the size of the ship inorder
to keep some sence of balance to look like the real think. Making it bigger
would raise the price, this is something most parents would balk at. They most
likly came up with the best formula for good sales.

Have A warm fuzzt day!

GREG~
