Not really, Zahn also described turbolasers as a continuous stream instead of
bolts. This is clearly overridden by the movies. Such errors are ommitted
from the Encyclopedia/BTM CD. Zahn also described communications as sub-space
instead of hyperwave. (sheesh you'd think this guy wanted to write a Trek
novel) He describes Super Star Destroyesrs as a mere 8km when a simple
comparison in the movies puts the SSD at about 17.6km (about 11 times longer
than an Imperial Star Destroyer. Every expanison book I read got this wrong
but it is overrided by the movies.) Zahn was the first expansion author and
consequently the least scrutinized. There will always be contradictions the
idea is to minimize them. In the event of a contradiction the order of canon
is used to determine which is correct.
