In the X-Wing series, it had 3 ion cannons and 3 blasters (which where
always changing places on the wings and cockpit, IMHO XWA had the best
configuration).  If you look at the official LEGO B-Wing, on each wing
there is the large standard blaster piece (in black, drool), with an
ORANGE 1x1 round plate: probably the blasters.  There is also a short
black antenna stuck into a headlight brick on each wing next to the
blasters, most likely the ion cannons.  I guess the dark grey
thruster-style bricks between the engine block and the cockpit are the
proton torpedo launchers.  BTW:  This is next on my purchace list for SW
LEGO.  Last Rebel figher I need.  :)

Yuck. I don't consider the X-wing series because it's a game, and most games
change things to make them easier to program or more exciting.

For instance:

1) You couldn't rotate the B-Wing's fuselage in the game.

2) A-Wings do not have concussion missile launchers... where would you put
them? It's a seat sandwiched between two engines. Their primary purpose is
dogfighting TIEs and going really fast.

I prefer to follow the SWRPG stats for the B-Wing because I like the
backstory they have created where the purpose of the B-Wing is a heavy assault
starfighter whose primary role is attacking capital ships. It's not the sort
of thing that goes out dogfighting TIEs, and so it has no need for major
blasters on the
wings (it has a couple on the cockpit). Generally, they go out in squads of
two with two wingmen (usually X-Wings or A-Wings) who keep the TIEs busy while
they do their business on the capital ships.

Anyway, you can build the model however you want, because it's your Lego
universe. :^)

Have Fun,

~Mark
