  new Millennium Falcon

I just did some resolution enhancements of the tiny Millennium Falcon at the bottom of (URL) 1.5+3x: (URL) 2.0+3x: (URL) it look like it's made out of LEGO® elements? KL (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

IMO, the Millennium Falcon probably won't come out till June or so. Concluding this becasue the image comes from the 2000 catalog and the words "coming soon" for the Millennium. Just like ep1 sets were "teased" in the 1999 catalogs -- Asher (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

(...) I was kind of wondering that myself...my first thought was that it wasn't a LEGO MF, but I can't quite pin down why. If it *is* LEGO, it looks like they did an excellent job of getting the shape right...especially on the escape pods and (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

It does not appear to be made from LEGO elements, I can't tell for sure. Ugh, we need a source inside TLG! :) Scott S. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

Here's my attempt at enhancement: (URL) is definitely Lego. Look at how the white and black areas are stepped just like bricks around the front right portion of the saucer. Actually the whole outside edge of the mandible looks stepped. -John Van (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

I don't think so. It looks like it has too much detail to be made out of bricks. What we need is a better scan. KL (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

(...) I disagree. I think it's definitely NOT Lego. If it is made of Lego, it's built to a scale that would preclude it from being a set- there's way too much detail on it. As much as I would like to beleive that this is an early look at a (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

(...) What if the MF is a _Model_Team_ (or equivalent) set (and _not_ a minifig set) ? Then the observed level of detail _would_ be appropriate for Lego, wouldn't it? Franklin (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

(...) Assuming it is, or is even designed by the model team for the regular line (to get more detail), the detail level is still too fine for it to be built out of Lego at a reasonable size. It would have to be 2.5-5 feet, at least. On at least one (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) You're certainly enititled to that opinion. (...) What does the crazy way the lights sources are angled on the model have to do with whether it's Lego or not? Or, let me rephrase that, rather than be disingenous. I've seen someone's suggestion (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new Millennium Falcon

(...) It might not be an early look at a prototype, but it might be a look at an early prototype. IOW, it might be LEGO, but it probably isn't what's going to be sold in stores. Steve (25 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)
