Eric,
Yes, that's the way it is with most news groups like this one, but I always
throw a MLR (Mandatory Lego Reference?) in to make it look better. Anyway, the
"Themes" usually come out once a year, the official date is December 26th, I
think, but you can usually snag sets earlier than that. However, they quickly
disappear because of the Christmas buying frenzy. There is usually one or
"Themes" that are released in July, but you can them earlier as well, it depends
on the store, TLG, etc.
SW sets were an exception. I think they were trying to get the Classic series
on line by Christmas, but fell short, so the first ones appeared in January or
early February. The Episode 1 Sets were keyed into the release of the official
merchandise on May 2nd, but there were some that were out before. Another
interesting factor is that the Classic series were very hard to find at first,
but after awhile, they were there. It wasn't until May 2nd that all stores had
both, which was strange also. I hope some of this information helped!
