I've been looking at the 7141 Naboo Fighter sitting on top of my monitor
for a week or so, and I thought I'd post a couple of quick comments on it.

I like the battle droids.  They should be a bit bigger, compared to
minifigs, but other than that, they are pretty nifty.  And they are very
lightweight, which is the impression I get from them in the movie --
they're made out of a lot of empty space.  The pair of legs are all one
piece, which is disappointing, but not the end of the world.  The torso
piece is very cool, I expect it to be highly versatile in creative building
(it actually looks like it could be used as the gas tank/centerpoint for a
motorcycle).  Ditto for the arms, although they'll be more decorative than
structural.

I'm not sure what the thing on wheels is supposed to be.  Probably a droid
of some kind.

The fighter itself is pretty cool.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do with
all those yellow bricks.  And the 'stand' underneath is very odd,
especially with the blue cannon sticking out of it.

Two other problems with the fighter:

1. (Minor nit) The cockpit should be set farther back.
2. (Major flaw) What is *up* with that nose sticking out the front?  This
ship is supposed to have a clean line across the leading edge of wings.

Having another R2 is nice, as are the light gray bricks, especially the
gray boat bricks (which I've never seen before (but could have easily
missed)).  The new canopy is cool, I just wish they had included
stud-notches along the trailing edge, so it would work better standing
upright.

(...) The "stand" looked to me like an attempt to allow the fighter to "fly". (...) I also collect the Micromachines Action sets, the Lego Naboo Fighter is a pretty good rendition of the Micromachines one. The nose does stick out a bit (perhaps not (...)
