[OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear? —James Wilson
OK, this is WAY geeky, but I just thought I'd share... This was triggered by a cloud visible at sunset a couple of evenings ago. It was long and triangular, and took up about 5 "hand-widths" at arms length. I started thinking, how close (or far (...) (19 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear? —David Eaton
(...) I dunno, it sounds like it makes sense. I mean, imagine how big a Boeing 747 looks at 50,000 feet (I get about 1/8th of a degree, assuming 70.7m length for a 747). Actually, considering how crasily long many clouds are, I wouldn't be suprised (...) (19 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

According to starwars.com it is 12.800 meters: "The size of a Super Star Destroyer has vacillated in numerous publications, starting with an eight-kilometer length in 1984's A Guide to the Star Wars Universe. The latest measurements peg the (...) (19 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) 10-11 Imperial Class Star Destroyers long has been my understanding, which would mean that the Lego ISD would be about the length of a SSD when compared to the Mini ISD Leg Godt Travis Matheson (19 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear? —James Wilson
(...) This article: (URL) gives it as ~17.6km, and states: "2004: The reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Trilogy by James Luceno corrects the record of the Executor's length: nearly a dozen times the length of a star destroyer. In other (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Not too geeky for me! I love this sort of stuff; it helps us visualize our lego models. Accurate measurements help in the design process. Keep it up! (19 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)
