Howdy,

My wife got me a Star Destroyer for Christmas and I am looking to put it
together, but I figured I should have a proper place to store it once assembly
is complete.  My home office is full of Lego and I have some free wall space, so
I was going to add another shelf to hold my newest model.

My question is, how large of a shelf do I really need to hold the Destroyer?  I
know the model is about 3" by 2" in size, but do I really need a shelf 2" deep?
(The destroyer will be able to hang over the shelf's edge.)

Any help would be great,
Jason
Jason, that set is huge... and while it's true that part of it can hang over the
edge, a two-foot deep shelf is probably required. And longer than three feet,
too- you want to be able to turn the model to show off different angles.

The model goes together in sections, as has been mentioned here before. If you
lift off the top parts, you can pick up the main model by the inside supports,
then *carefully* move the body. So... build it first, then build a shelf that
fits it, and fits what you want to do with it.

That's my advice- I had to sell my ISD, the thing was just too big.
