Well I've already ordered my copy but I am not as excited as some people who
seem to have been waiting for this for years. I think my reaction is that
the Blockade Runner, while a nice looking ship, doesn't have the innovative
hull shape that would make for a spectacular model. And I am comparing it in
my mind to UCS models of the AT-AT (imagined), X-Wing and TIE. One of the
reasons the Sopwith Camel has been so popular, I think, is that it solved
serious design issues in a startlingly elegant manner. The Blockade Runner
has no such elegance. On the other hand, some of the building trechniques,
as in the conical forward hull section, are very intriguing, and I am
looking forward to all the surface decoration. I am hoping that the actual
set will have a better realized stand or support method than the one
pictured, which seems slapdash.
