I've madethis point to Dave before, but I'll air it in the open as well.  I use
the Tie Fighter pilots in my AT-AT, and I can justify it to myself, at least ;)
The AT-AT drivers we see in ESB are in gray and white - but, one can also see
that the stormtroopers designed for a snowy environment loko different from
stormtroopers on the Death Star and elsewhere.  Can't the drivers be differently
garbed as well?  Since we don't see any of the drivers on Endor, I'm comfortable
saying that in non-artic climates, the drivers are wearing black suits rather
than white and gray.

Hmm..why not just use the Tie Fighter pilot? Aren't they pretty close, too?
And already black and all. My mind's eye is seeing the AT-AT drivers as
being basically the same as the Tie Pilot in color and such.

Huh? ATAT drivers wore gray and white. They had hoses on their helmets
similar to the TIE pilots, but the resemblance ends there.

(...) That sounds like a very good rationalization. :^) What if you combined the white Stormtrooper helmet with another torso? I'm having trouble thinking of a good torso to use at the moment, but it's a thought. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.starwars)
