I think the X-Wing is supposed to be white, the toy I had as a kid was
white. In the movie they are gray and white, and I think the gray is mainly
dirt.

| (...) I think we had this discussion before about the Imperial Shuttle.... The models used for filming were gray, the life size model at the Star Wars Celebration AND the one in Disneyland are gray, and every picture I've ever seen of an X-wing is (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

To my eye, X-Wings are grey, and someone in LEGO also thought so when they built the prototype (shown in the March 1999 UK LEGO club (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)
