(...) I've found this to be a little confusing as well. The only figures in the Star Wars mf sets that are unique, to me, is Palpatine and battle droid commander. What's so unique about Chewbacca? (...) Nope, the Palpatine torso is different. Darth Maul has a large sash-style belt; Palpatine has a small rope-style one. Look at em side by side, and it's obvious. -Chris (24 years ago, 23-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Actually, Palpatine's torso is the same as the one that came with Darth Maul... the head is unique though, but it won't be if the set list w/ minifigs is correct...
