I know what you mean about the central span. Actually, compared to the front part the central span is the right length. It's the back part that's about 130% too big. (Or the front two parts are too small!) When I build too much in one sitting I (...) (24 years ago, 25-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) I wouldn't count on anything from the Expanded Universe. I know the Outrider was added to ANH:SE but I still wouldn't count on it.
