Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) Chris, keep the fire suit on, then do a search on "Bram Lambrecht" where someone copied one of his car designs...then tried to profit on it... Likewise, If you're selling your Lego collection, makes me wonder how die-hard a Lego fan you are... (...) (21 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) I appreciate the good things you've said. I also appreciate that you've come in here to try and work this out. This thread got pretty silly real quick. I'm just trying to look out for Mark and stand up for what I think is right. I admit that (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

There has been a lot of talk about the legality and morality of selling your inspired MOCs, but I' going to stray from that for a second and toss my opinion into the ix. Okay, here it goes. They way I see it building with lego is a skill that needs (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) I agree Bram, I made that point in my post, I can completely understand why Mark feels cheated. my point isn't where the inspiration of where Ryan's MOC came from, but it's just that when I first read Mark's post it felt to me as if it was a (...)   Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) The point is *not* whether Mark owns the design or not. The point is that Mark will feel cheated. If I were in Mark's shoes (hey, wait, I have been in the same situation...like 3 times), I'd feel the same way. By selling his Gunstar, Ryan (...)   Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) Well, I'm not really all that upset about it. I just stated my opinion on the matter. I don't hate you or anything. I don't really think my original post was "nasty" unless you're really thin skinned, which you don't seem to be. Anyway, it's (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

Well I caused quit the ruckus and I suppose I should try and respond. I’m a little hesitant because I am more likely then not going to make things worse on me but here goes: 1. My wife: Somehow she became a villain and that is my fault. I suggested (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) I just felt I should step into this, a few issues have been raised (...) I'm afraid I have to disagree, It is not wrong. it may not be nice, desirable or even good. But the fact that some have reservations about it does not make it wrong. (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

(...) I'll concede that the Grand Admiral has some intellectual property rights here that are being ignored by Ryan's attempt to sell a model adapted from Mark's design. And for the record, I think it would be bad form for Ryan to sell this model (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.market.theory)
