New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

I have 3 new space creations up on my site. The first two are a bit Jetsons-ish, and are before- and after-conversion shots of the same vehicle: Space Jalopy: www.hafhead.com/lego...index.html Roadster: www.hafhead.com/lego...index.html The tug is a (...) (...) Very nice! I like the before-and-after bit. But doesn't Gordon's mother worry about him racing around in a souped-up car with no roof? (...) Also very nice. I was impressed with the shot of it I saw before, and now even moreso. Very nice use (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) Heh. Good stuff. Reminds me of the local punks driving Honda Civics with gigantic wings on the back end. (...) Good to see the tug again. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) It's not half as dangerous as the car was beforehand- the ClunCo 200e isn't exactly known for its safety. And he does wear a helmet. But seriously, she's more concerned with his car obsession. His grades are dropping and she worries what he'll (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Oooh neato! The before and after is a nice touch and all the commentary is great! :-P The detail on the tug is stunning! The pics just kept coming and coming and coming! Like has been said before, very innovative cockpit design. --Kyle (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

Thanks! Engines have been a new focus for me- until recently I've just slapped some 4x4 cones onto the back of whatever I'm making. But I'm very consciously experimenting with them now. I even damaged a piece in the construction of the Roadster's (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) Excellent- that's exactly what I was aiming for! Perhaps a lowered pickup is in the works next... (...) Hey- what have you been up to lately? I haven't seen anything new from you in a while. Or did I miss something because I was focused on (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

Yeah, I noticed that too a couple of weeks ago. I also damaged several pieces before finally realizing that LEGO made some major size errors with this piece. :-( Anyways, it's great to see you actually putting some thought in the engines, very few (...)   Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) Ha! I guess you guys got spoiled with my frequent new MOCs. Well, I've been working, never fear. This time, I'm replacing frequency with quantity. I've been working on this: (URL) about 90% done. It'll probably be finished this weekend. :^) (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

I like the before and after idea,I'll have to try it with something:-) I love the detail on the engines, I've never seen a steering wheel unsed like that before! I don't know exactly what I like about the tug but I do like it, maybe its the fact (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) You ARE rather prolific, yeah! (...) Wow, you ain't kidding! Holy cow that's huge! And detailed... "My God, it's full of bricks..."   Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) Yup, those look more interesting than simple 4x4 cones slapped on the back (which unfortunately, is what I still do =p). I especially like the Space Tug: good use of those podracer fins (aren't you glad they come in grey now?!). The 45 degree (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOCs: Space Jalopy, Roadster, and Tug

(...) Plates won't actually fit- only tiles seem to have any binding at all. And the binding is *very* fragile. If there wasn't a flat surface below to keep the tiles square, they would fall off. I tried round 1x1 plates too, thinking that I (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)
