It came about by accident; I was playing with wall panel modules and the
plates with the 90 degree bend in them were the ones still on the bench
that I hadn't yet sorted... :) I'm still not happy with the way the
unit mounts (detail can be seen in
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=33228
that shows the gaping holes from the inside-- I covered them with a plate
on the outside), but I'll work that out. An earlier version used the
"curved wall section" idea in
http://news.lugnet.com/cad/?n=1846
, which looks more "sealed" but a) is much harder to attach a floor to,
and b) needs a much wider front module.
But for now, I settled for gaping holes. The square root of 2 is not my
friend.

The colonial space forces always put their most eccentric officers on
deep space exploration vessels. :)

| I just saw this on brickshelf, so I thought I'd drop in here to see if you had posted about it. :^) That's a very innovative cockpit design. I like it. Very unusual. "Tex" is a nice addition too. ;^) Thanks for the pics! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.space)
