The smaller section that detaches initially was to be an emergency evac
vehicle... but then I liked it and made it a "captain's yacht" like on Star
Trek.  It's purpose is still for escape but it can be readily detached.  It
has a command chair that lifts up so the pilot can see.  A small nav
station, com station and engineering station.  it has an onboard food
replicator and table and chair.

As to the bridge, yeah it's done.  See it here:

The angle doesn't present all the classic blue computers and the reverse
slope computers in the back.  The grey pannel in the back of the bridge is a
"Star Trek" sliding door.
