Well... yes. If you look at this picture:

You’ll notice the five of this piece (One at each corner of the main hull, one at the end of the container section):

They all stick out below the hull by about a stud and a half, providing a stable, if not short, landing base.

I suppose assumed mail ships aren’t going to be landing on anything other than tarmac.
