bricklink folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=126112

The details: -faster than light civilian transport capable of landing on planets or docking at space stations -crew of 3 (2 in the cockpit and one to serve you your overpriced martini) -capable of seating 8 in first class and 30 unhappy people in coach -complete with overhead storage, curtain for first class, bathroom in back, galley, and a magazine rack. -retractable landing gear which came out far cooler than I ever thought possible.

Construction notes / personal commentary:

This was an exercise in SNOT to the nth degree and it was really challenging to get all the geometries worked out and make the thing come part for interior access. But I think the end product really came out pretty slick. The sides are held together with 2 technic pins each which actually ended up better than trying an axle as the pressure required to pull it together or apart with the axle was usually too “catastrophic”. Somehow the pins work better. I don’t get it but I won’t complain if it works.

Comments and constructive criticism most appreciated!

Very nice Jeff, very nice indeed. It has a nice design, with both a cool shape and plenty of functional elements. And I think that having lots of windows really helps to give it a civillian feel. The only criticism I can offer is that the landing gear seem overly tall, but they retract fully, so it’s hard to knock them.

It’s funny, I’ve been thinking for a couple of months that we could use alot more civillian crafts around here. I’ve got a Luxury Liner of sorts in the works (think Titanic style cruise ship) and I’d like to encourage more people to get into the civillian MOC business before Brickfest.

Again, kudos on a nice ship Jeff.
