I forgot to shoot the eyepiece better- I don’t think there are any pictures that
actually show it clearly in front of the pilot’s eye. That’s a little detail
I’ve tried to put on other ships and never really gotten right before. It
worked out really well here, though it seems like it would make a bit more sense
on a combat ship. And I love doing landing gear. I had a bit of trouble
getting the front gear in, and I was happily surprised on the third try when it
just came together on its own.

I feel the color scheme was very appropriate for the Halloween NWBC, but I
have to agree with Jon about the white and orange. I loved that scheme on
Philip Painter’s ci Maximum.

I have to admit that white and orange look great together. But white has a
certain “cleanliness” that goes along with it- especially if it’s almost all
white. I wanted more of a utilitarian feel to it, because I thought that went
better with the shape. Soren manages to pull off “clean” and “utilitarian”
together with the bot forge, but he has a way better color sense than I do.
What happened with Jon is that I showed him this ship just before he left town
here and asked him if the red seemed out of place- should I change it to
something else? His answer was to get rid of three of the four colors and add
white. I hadn’t planned on rebuilding the ship from scratch, though, so I ended
up doing nothing.
If I’d been thinking, I would have posted it a couple of
weeks ago and gone more with the Halloween angle for the backstory.
But
anyway, thanks for the comments. I definitely appreciate the criticism.
