Hi Chris I would have replied to this post earlier as well, but have forgotten about it a few times. I hope I’m not too late for you to read this!

Never.

It’s nice to see somebody supporting the hovertanks and it’s ok to scrap the turret, it gets a nice low profile that way, but what I’m really missing is the possibility to adjust the guns vertically so it can hit targets above the level of the tank: It can’t hit anything but ground in front when parked at a downward slope, let alone defend against airstrikes (which the guns seem really good for).
If you look at the WW2 German Elephant tank (large caliber without turret, probably the one that inspired you) it still has a

possibility for slight adjustments (10-20 degrees or something like that if you play Battlefield 1942 ;-)).

I tried really hard to figure out a way to make them adjustable. I was hoping no one would notice really...but nothing gets past you guys, which is good. The guns are really heavy, and I tried everything from pins to axles to hinges, and nothing can hold them up. They’re really big, about the length of five to six minifigs I think. Don’t quote me on that.

BTW what kind of ammo does it use? It seems like it could run out pretty fast considering the small hull of the tank...
Hmmm...yes...ammo, it would seem that the large caliber would mean large ammo, so not so much storage room. Maybe it has a supply truck that follows it to rearm. Maybe not. Thanks for commenting!

It seems to be pretty easy for replies to “old” post to get lost around here...

Have you tried to balance the guns better by moving the point of balance forward? (And maybe raising it a bit to make room for tilting) As far as I ought to be able to move it as far ahead as just behind the barrels...?

You could also consider using clickhinges or the new technic balljoints (these would enable some slight horizontal adjustments as well).
