We are sorry to inform you of a minor threat(1) to space.

A sample-gathering bot developed by Whateverly Labs, for purely scientific uses, has been ‘mis-programmed’ and, having gathered a few samples of weaponry, is now on the loose.

The BotFly is armed and considered dangerous or merely annoying (YMMV). If you see this bot, please destroy it using ‘means at your disposal’. Do not try to reverse engineer this bot; no good can come of it. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Peace and caution,

Professor Whateverly

(1) Um, no, not the band...

Yikes. Just imagine if there was an entire swarm of those things... It's a cool lil' bot, Ley. I just hope the collective forces of doom don't take advantage of its simple design... - Roy W. (20 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.space)
