Thats gotta hurt. I once dropped a 40 stud long segment of my ship when
it was in very early development and even that killed me. I still remember
with horror as it fell and pieces shot in all directions when it hit the
floor. And the sound.....oh god the sound.
Well I'm sorry to hear about the crash but look forward to hearing about
your new one.
I would build it in sturdy segments if I were you and then transport
thoughs one at a time when you have to. I also haven't used base-plates in
the construction of mine because I thought they would be to flimsy. Try
making a basic shape with beams and bricks. Plates (1x and 2 x ) tend to
bind beams and bricks together well. Make sure this part is very sturdy by
itself and then build around it and fill it in with decks and such. This has
worked for me.
Good luck!
Jon.
