Here's my minifig scale entry for Jon's P-38 Lightning contest (2 URLs) F-38 Impulse>> (URL) F-38 Impulse> The intakes on the front are built in 5 different directions if you include the text on the outside and the vents on the inside. (...) I've used the reversed canopy before, about 8 years ago, in (URL) this MOC>. I originally got the idea from Karim Nassar, but I can't find his design.
