  Mirage

Greetings! Here's a teeny attack craft I made: (URL) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space) !

  Re: Mirage

Wow! I saw that earlier on BrickShelf. Very nice! Simple, elegant (the use of one main color, no printed slopes or bricks, not so many greebles), this ship looks very compact, pretty strong. Maybe massive... Cheers, JP. (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Excellent as usual, Dan. That engine is the clincher for me....it's chunky, but doesn't look garish...has a great sense of power to it. Cool. Cheers, -Gil (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Hey, Dan, very nice! This is a cool variation on the quarter-saucer theme. I wouldn't call it teeny- I guess all of my craft are microscopic, then- but it looks convincingly powerful, with those four blistering weapon pods, huge engine, and (...) Another cool looking nasal design there Dan! :) You certainly have a knack for working the big dish panels into your ships. Greg "Daniel Jassim" <danieljassim@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:Ht68Bu.GI2@lugnet.com... (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Masterful use of colour and different shapes. The Jack Stone canopy is a neat touch. I've had a few aborted attempts at using one myself, so I'm pleased that someone has finally realised it's potential. Cheers, Allister (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

That's a really nice MOC Dan. The yellow missiles work surprisingly well with the tan/grey colour scheme. The landing gear is cool too, very discreet and practical. I especially like the cockpit area, you made excellent use of that JS canopy. Thanks (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Mirage

(...) I did! I love the little side landing gear that don't even have to extend out, just tilt a little bit. Such a nice detail. And covering up the stud holes on the saucer pieces (those little holes always bug me - although they could come in (...) (21 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Wow Dan. This is a very versatile design. Looking at this (URL) picture>, I said to myself "Wow! That would even look cool upside down or maybe even verticle." Question: Did you intend to use the missile pods as a landing gear or was that just (...) (21 years ago, 20-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

verticle. Oops. Should be vertical. -Captain John “aka Mark Mueller”¬ Founder and Chairman of StarBrew Brewing Co. (URL) (21 years ago, 20-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Nice interior!! Is that an ejection seat? I've been trying to work on these sorts of things more lately, and have been looking closer at seating and control details. What is inside the big engine in the back? I can't quite tell what's going on (...) (21 years ago, 20-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Cool ship. Looks beefy and rugged; like it was designed to take a beating and still come home. Kinda feels very A-10 warthog-ish if you know what I mean. I also really like the way you build the engines on your ships. Is this ship supposed to (...) (21 years ago, 21-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Thanks! (...) Yes, I wanted the pods/pylons to double as landing struts. Actually, what I didn't plan on was the retractable landing gear in the middle. Originally, I was going to have fixed skids underneath the main body, same as the skids on (...) (21 years ago, 22-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Yes, that's an ejection seat. In space it is useless. But if the craft has an emergency in atmosphere the pilot can eject and parachute to safety. (...) Those are stacked 1 x 2 plates in trans neon green. Behind them, inside the engine block, (...) (21 years ago, 22-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Thanks. That "rugged" look was exactly what I was after. Hmmm, maybe I was subconsciously inspired by the A-10? (...) Yes, I started off making this ship as a sort of offshoot of the Nasal Avenger and Captain Ahnee stuff. I was going to call (...) (21 years ago, 22-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) Teeny, huh... That thing is massive (at least, compared to the scale I've been working at recently) and a fine example of how to put together a harmonious creation. I'm talking 'music' here. Well done. That stack of trans-neon green plates is (...) (21 years ago, 23-Feb-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Mirage

(...) I can't believe you brasso-ed a att. The ship is great though. Pat Bunn (21 years ago, 2-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)
