I would just beef up the entire system alltogether.  Design modules with
both the strength and the stability to hold together _and_ allow
passthrough.  I have some (few pictures) on my E-43 transport model - but
they're rail-mounted on a spacecraft, not for free-standing stations.  But
it wouldn't be hard to adapt that design to a free-standing station module.

Maybe a modified rail/girder system that's the superstructure of a station,
with the modules fitting inside, or clamping to that structure?  Think like
NASA does :)

I made this station modular to look like the real one NASA is making. What is the link to the pictures you're talking about? My station uses mostly special pieces from the 2x3x6 corridor system, with rounded inside and outside corners. I put a (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.space)
