Amazing what a proper camera, strong fluourescent lights, and a steady hand will
get you :)

Yeah, but only in a small amount of trim and on the guns. The rest of the ship
is black and dark blue, with just a hint of dark grey (vents), red (thrusters)
and sand green (sensors).
As for its big brother, well, I just have to wait for some inspiration and a few
more pieces :)

It does indeed. It's shown in these two images:

The two landing gear legs just fold together in that nice cavity on the
underside.
